“Drawing a line in the sand” signifies a dividing line since biblical times: “We all have to choose one side or the other. There is no middle ground or going back.” In life and in battle.
We are not an island in the ocean or a lone star in the universe. In the presence of evil, there should be a divider - like a line we draw in the sand and our minds. It is fleeting, intangible, brutally easy to erase, but so important: which side are you on and stay? Until we cross the finish line beyond which destruction begins. Annihilation where the miracle of life turns to ashen sand and the seas vaporize.
